BEING THE CHANGE

The Institute for Domestic and International Affairs, Inc. (IDIA) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation dedicated to providing innovative educational opportunities to students of all ages so they may better understand their role in global and domestic civil society. In order for the voting age population to be active participants in government and community, it is important that younger populations have an in-depth and compelling understanding of their responsibilities both to their government and to their fellow citizens.

It is more than a good idea for IDIA to make a special effort to include students from all socioeconomic backgrounds in its Model UN and Model Congress programming; it’s vital to the successful completion of our mission statement. Your support is vital, too.

A text-deductible gift to IDIA is an investment in our country’s future leaders. Every businessperson, elected official, taxpayer, parent, and voter in the United States has a stake in developing the skills of compromise and informed leadership in our youth.

GIVING TO IDIA

IDIA is a fully certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization recognized by the IRS (EIN: 22-3493984). You can donate directly to IDIA and make an investment in its students via the button below. Once your donation is complete, you’ll receive a receipt with all the details needed to claim a tax deduction. Donations are processed via Stripe, so you can be sure your information is secure and will be treated with the utmost care by our staff.

IDIA is also seeking corporate partners to act as sponsors for our larger conferences. More than 3,000 local and international secondary students participate in our programming each year. We also count more than 1,000 current college students and alumni among our corps of volunteers. This means IDIA is a major player in the educational space in the greater tristate area. Contact us at info@idia.net for more information about potential partnerships.

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE

Amazon Smiles

There are many ways to get involved with IDIA. One of the simplest ways is to participate in the Amazon Smile program and name IDIA as your selected organization.

Smile is an excellent way to help certified non-profits like IDIA by simply shopping on Amazon just like you normally do. Using Amazon Smile doesn’t cost you a thing; Amazon matches a small portion of the cost of your purchase and donates it to IDIA.

To get started, head to smile.amazon.com and select Institute for Domestic and International Affairs as your organization of choice. Then shop Amazon as normal. That’s it! The AmazonSmile Foundation will match 0.5% of the purchase price of any item you buy in a donation to IDIA.

Donate Your Time & Expertise

Monetary gifts are only one of many ways to support IDIA. The conferences we run involve making pressing political issues accessible to today’s media-savvy high school student. We also rely on subject matter experts and other qualified professionals to make our conferences truly enriching. Volunteers can serve as guest speakers on a particular topic of relevance, lead a training workshop for our undergraduate volunteers, or even keynote one of our conferences.

Please drop us a line at info@idia.net if you can contribute your time in any of the following capacities:

  • Policy experts
  • Guest speakers
  • Political subject matter experts
  • Media and creative professionals
  • Graphic designers
  • Video producers

Since 2006, IDIA has awarded over $65,000 in scholarships and grants, enabling hundreds of students to participate in our conferences.

Over 85% of IDIA’s budget goes directly to its programs rather than overhead or operations costs. Your gift will help students in a very direct way.
